it gets worse.... cigarette burns on the tub and sheets... and the mattress must have had a lot of activity because it was wore out... It used to be a La Quinta so on the outside it looks okay. I sent pictures to Motel 6 online and they promptly made the motel refund my bill

Avoid the Knoxville Center (used to be East Town Mall) area. Even the cops are avoiding it now. For an area with some of the best motorcycle roads, I-40 from the I-81 split to Kingston is awful on a bike.

That is brilliant ! I got an extra 83 rear wheel. I'm going to take that advice next big ride I do.

You gotta love how easy it is to change the rear wheel on these .... almost as if Honda expected you to wear out the back tire ....

Gord

I keep hearing about cupping issues on the front tires but does not appear to be an issue on this one. It has the centramatic wheel balancers and the front tire is worn to the point it is about due for replacement but it is nice and even. The Centramatic site claims it is a benefit of the balancer :2thumbs

Played with Basecamp some this morning and got the routes done. This is not going to be continuous days. I have several 600 mile plus days. As I get closer and have more seat time on this I will refine the schedule. Right now it is 6 legs each way. Pretty sure one day will get truncated while I am in the Grand Canyon area. Have already accepted that the pikes peak area will be a short mileage day. Maybe even 2.

from salt lake to Denver, going through Wyoming is a prettier drive. Western Colorado is just flat and windy plains. (although I was on 70 when I did it 34 years ago. If you are heading down to hwy 50, that should be pretty, but remember you will not make any time. Just be aware of those hwy signs that say "last gas for....."

When you're in Colorado Springs for the Pikes Peak run up the "hill", make sure you also visit Garden of the Gods.

Yep on the list. Wife spent a couple years out there when her first husband was stationed at Fort Carson and she talk about the Garden a lot. Probably going to spend the night there in Manitou Springs

You will darn near be in Dave Morgans lap. Better plan a stop there.. :) Outside eugene. And Dave can slam a tire on for you. Probably has a couple hundred in stock.
