I will probably be there at least one day, along with the every-year-promise of riding the KZ1300 down IF she cooperates. But we'll see.
1997 Valkyrie- Light Cutomization, but Too Busy Riding
1980 KZ1300- Bike's Haunted
1976 GL1000 (Yellow)- It Runs (Poorly) and Doesn't Leak (Mostly)
1974 Velosolex 3800- Better Than Walking
1972 CB750- Broke the Chain And Ate the Motor
1969 CT90- The Most Fun You Can Have on 90ccs.
1965 CA77 Dream- Needs a Full Teardown, but Complete

All advice I give is only valid until an expert corrects me.

now the question is whether to trailer up the 79 project to sell it off.

Yea i am facing a similar issue with 2 I have right now. My 75 should not take much to get ready but the other 75 I have needs a full mechanical resto before then. Really need to start that.

I haven't been to Mid-Ohio in a few years and could easily make it. I usually gravitate to the VJMC stand. Hmmm...which bike to take? GS1000S or the '76 Wing? I think I could talk my son into going. Why not both?

pidjones wrote:I'll stick with Barber. They handle the bikes and crowd so well. Swap meet awesome, racing well-organized. Love Ohio, but I'll stay South.
Pid, I never miss the Barber vintage fest. Last year's was just too damn hot though and we had to cut our visit short as the wife was well on the way to becoming a heat casualty even with my badgering her about staying hydrated. But in 2017's Barber Vintagefest I got to have a photo of me and my Suzuki GS1000S "Wes Cooley" replica with the man himself, Wes Cooley.

Last two years (the two I've been to so far) very hot. We left around 2pm for the AC in the hotel, but saw great racing while there. We take the 1800 and a Uni-go, leaving the Uni-go in the hotel as our luggage. Most of the time we sit under the trees just up the hill from the lower swap meet. That's close to the central vendor displays, swap meet, and shuttle stop. Trips to the vintage club areas, upper swap meet, and padock were great. Dreamland BBQ near our hotel is worth the trip to Birmingham.

If I can get my wing out in the next couple days and do some long rides locally I might be able to make it.
Do they allow Chickens at the event?
Got to work up the nerve I've got the time and the funds. But do I have the back bone? I'm shooting for it. Will know by March 1st at the latest. Must consult with my Squaw.
