Since you'll be going right by me, if you keep the I94 route, I'll come.

Now that I am out of the woods for the year I will be starting to work on this again. I hope to be able to firm up the dates and work reservations in the next couple weeks.

Looks like this will be placed on hold till 2022. St Mary's Village on the East side of the park "anticipates opening" in June but my best guess is that will be pushed. Currently most of the Visitor Centers are closed and have not released anticipated opening dates. I see this in numerous place " Plans for the summer of 2021 are still underway and have not been finalized at this time." Because it involves my Wife's travel and airlines etc etc I am not going to try and force it.

So I am putting a pin in this for now. :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

Trips like this are good in the planning stage, better in the immediate weeks prior to leaving, and amazing when actual. Don't stop dreaming, we'll get them in.
BTW, my family owns a five bedroom lake home on nine acres just a half mile off I-94 and the south exit to Fergus Falls MN. It has four double beds, one single, a queen hide-a-bed and a sleeper couch. With planning it can be available to anyone wanting a place to sleep for a night or a place to stay when riding the Minnesota Lakes Region.
Goldwings don't accelerate, they gain inertia.

1978 GL1000 - almost stock - needs a head replaced, parts are ready to install!
1979 GL1000 - Winter project/parts bike - custom "Busted"
1983 GL1100 Standard- raised from the dead and back to organ donor status
And the newest acquisition, 1979 XS 650F to be a sidecar tug. crossy.gif

So this did not happen in 2023 due to the fact that when I tried making reservations back in February everything was booked solid. So the dream is on again for 2024. One thing that has change is the addition of the Burgess Junction loop. Not 100% yet how it will fit in. I suspect I will leave Rapid City one morning do the Custer wildlife loop and spend that night in Lovell and do that loop the next day before pushing on to Missoula. It would be a fun morning followed by a Slab burn in the afternoon.

Graybull has a fascinating aerial firefighting museum thats worth checking out. And Beartooth Pass is right there as well. that should be on a bucket list.Lots of very nice scenery in that area.

Yea there is a crazy amount of great rides out there. Trying to figure in only those that can be done with minimal detour from the destination. It would take a couple months to do all I want to and I can not do that so will have to pace it but Beartooth is on one of the lists!
