Triple Tree
Does anyone have knowledge of a switch for the top portion of the triple tree on a 75-79?
I have a copped 78 and I need to change my handle bars to make the bike look proportional. I own a set of 1" bars but would need to mount them on risers or pull backs to clear the custom tank.
It looks like a simplified triple tree top like what comes on newer bikes would be the answer; has anyone changed the top of the triple tree out?
Any constructive suggestions will be appreciated, Don

triple tree
Maybe if ya got some 7/8 dog bone risers and then cutout one end to 1" to fit yours bars. Also I found out ya can use harley triple trees. You just need to size the right size of bearings. The harley stem is smaller than the honda. I'd like to get some slightly raked ones after the holidays.

HD trees
I just got off the Cycle X web sight. They have bearing cups for converting cb750's over to HD trees. There have been post on this sight that there is speculation that 750 trees fit 75-77 gl's. If so the the bearing cups should work.

Re: Triple Tree
I'm a member on a couple 750 chopper boards , and some of those guys have found that the first 2 years GW trees will swap straight over . ( they like to run the wider front ends )

Re: Triple Tree
What years do the top triple trees cross over? They look the same for the first several years. If a company.. say cyclex were to make flat topped top tree to accept any riser how many and what years could they cover with one tree top?
Would there be a market?.....say...perhaps..ngw members?
How about a selection of phater bars necked down to 7/8" at the grips and tree? They do it for hog ryders. why not metric?
