Copper gaskets can be bought from NAPA; Fel-Pro part number 60567 . The automotive applications are 1976-84 Honda 1.3, 1.5, 1.6 and 1.8 liter 4 cylinder engines. May also fit some 1991-95 Nissan 4 cylinders. $1.49 each.

not to hijack, but...

something I noticed and wanted to comment upon, when working on a customers 1200 a couple of weeks ago is that the copper squash gasket/rings between the head & header were a bit larger diameter than the 1000/1100. so there's a definite difference in outlet diameter on the 1200 heads as opposed to the heads on a 1000/1100 (which I believe are the same between the two).

someone I think recently mentioned the possibility of using 1200 header pipes on an 1100 or a 1000... or something like that? it seems the 1000/1100 headers might "fit" into/onto a 1200 head, but I don't think they would the other way, 1200 header pipes onto a 1000/1100 head.

somebody correct me if I'm wrong. I'm thinking the larger volume the 1200 vs. the 1000/1100 would warrant a larger outlet of the head exhaust and flow capacity of the 1200 header pipe. right?

The same gaskets also fit Suzuki GS400, CX/GL500/650 and probably a lot of other bikes.

Granted I'm new to GoldWings and it may be obvious, but when posting cross over parts as above, can we specify what GW models they cover?

Trying not to hijack, but along the same lines... but I noticed my Athena "complete gasket kit" came with metal rings that appear to be filled with asbestos, not the standard copper crush sleeves. I may swing by Napa and pick up a set of the Fel-Pro's if it's recommended.

The FelPro 60567 gaskets are pretty hard to come by through the Napa system, at least here in WA, so I've ordered a cross referenced Napa (EXH p/n31541) part to see if it's acceptable. It's not the copper type, it's got a metal inner crush ring surrounded by the asbestos-like stuff. I'll keep you posted.

The metal rings are fine. A lot of kits come with those. I wouldn't buy new copper ones just because of that. I'd use the metal ones and never give it a thought.
