I wanted to give Ron, aka. "Keymaker" plug here for the great service he offers. He provided me with a key for not only my '77 GL1000, but also for my 900F and 1100F. When I mentioned that I needed a spare for my 750F but didn't have a key code, he told me to send him a picture of the key. Based on the picture, he was able to correctly identify what the code should be. He cut one and included it with the other keys and all of them fit fine. Everything arrived quickly and the price couldn't be beat. What a great guy to deal with!
Thanks Ron!

Re: Honda Keys
I have only met him once but we have conversed a couple of thousand times through PM's and the phone. I can tell you without a doubt that this site would not be anything near as good as it is without his Technical expertise.
His efforts here often go unnoticed by many but there are times when I seriously wonder if I could manage this site without him.

Re: Honda Keys
You guys are going to make an old man blush.
I have few goals concerning NGW.
1. Do all I can to keep it going as long as I can.
2. Promote logical, safe, and inexpensive maintenance on these old goldwings.
3. Find inexpensive alternatives for parts either overpriced (IMHO) or no longer available.
4. And when it comes to keys, provide an inexpensive alternative to having keys made.
There are several threads here and on other forums regarding the expense of having keys made when you have lost your key. None of them are pretty and I strongly suggest to everyone to have (and carry, especially on trips) a spare key. Whether you purchase from here, locksmith, dealership, DIY, or Big Box store; have and carry a spare (set?) either in your wallet or hidden on the bike. Loosing keys far from home is no fun, (don't ask how I know) but an ounce of prevention now....
