G'day "BikeMaine" and everyone else :-D

Most of the fires are on the east coast, but the nearest fire is in Yanchep and Two Rocks which are around 30km north of where I live, but we are safe as there are many suburbs of concrete and housing between us.

the work on my bikes has stagnated due to lack of funds. Rupturing hot water systems, washing machine and fridges clapping out, dental and vet bills have chewed out my pocket money, all I can afford is fuel for my 88 outfit and Valkyrie, and even then it is sometimes too hot to ride any decent distance as I get so dehydrated and sun bleached.

My 75 is on the road and I have ridden a whopping 97kms on her, but the last two times when I start her up she bellows an incredible amount of smoke evenly from the exhaust. I park her up on the main stand, it is very disheartening and I have given up on her for the moment (winter project).

I am tinkering with the 76 outfit now and then, she is close to being on the road again, but she will look like a real "Yobbo's" bike with all panels a different colour, she needs a paintjob. But I will still ride her as she handles so well.

All the best, Peter.

My wife has several relatives in Western Australia. They are under a pretty strict lockdown and their economy is tanking like everywhere else. One nephew is hoping he’s one of the 8 out 50 in Perth who will stay on at work for a while.
Whatever I suggest here should be given ample time for a moderator to delicately correct. I apologize in advance.

G'day to Everyone and "Happy Easter!" :-D

This "COVID-19" is sure messing up the world. I am in mining which is classed as essential, but we have gone to a 2 & 2 roster (2 weeks on and 2 weeks off), there are three of us Met-Techs there but only 2 are required, Dave lives in Melbourne so they stuck him up in a hotel and he will work his 2&2 roster, Max is a little younger than me and his only hobbies are Bourbon & Women so he is on a 2&2 roster, I am the oldest and have many hobbies to keep my mind busy, therefore I do not go back to site till September/October or until its over. I am on standby in case Dave or Max gets sick, then I will fly up and take their spot.

Until then I stay at home on full pay and site allowance's, its terrible, I am so upset anim-cheers1 dancr

As for my bikes; well the 75 will just not run smoothly, splutters and farts when idling or taking it easy, it tries to get up and go when you boot her, but I am disappointed and took the battery out and parked her up in a corner. :(

The 76 outfit is now back together except for the boat linings etc.

The rebuilt engine goes good, she splutters at idling a little but I haven't tweaked the mixture screws yet, just synchronised her. I cut some breather holes in the sides of the lower fairings to give her some more breathing space and also made up a pair of brackets to tie the lower fairing tails from flapping about, they will bolt to the exhaust studs so I made them so the heat will take some time to reach the fairing.

At work we are required to do urine tests daily or as many times as you feel necessary to keep an eye on your Hydration levels.

I have collected the empty containers and have fitted the lids to the underside of my false ceiling in the workshop, this is for all them packets of screws you buy, you want 4 screws or whatever but they come in packs of 10 or so.

I will number the bottoms of the jars and then make up a list of what's in them.

So here is the 76 again with the vent holes in the fairing lowers.

She needs a paintjob but that wont happen until all the mods etc work well.

One thing that bothers me is the screw like clips on the sidecovers, they go rusty and hard to remove without breaking them, I also do not like the slot as you can easily slip and scratch the cover.

So here is my fix, (I haven't fitted them as I will wait till the covers are painted first).

Its Easter Sunday at 16:30, at 17:00 the street will be out on the ends of their driveways to have a social drink or tow or even much more than that in my case anim-cheers1 anim-cheers1 anim-cheers1 anim-cheers1 anim-cheers1

Now I have plenty of time on my hands I will be messing with my bikes a bit bore, I am still waiting for my GL-1500 rear wheel to be machined down and a car tyre rim fitted, then I can play with my Naked 1500 again, it will be interesting as many modifications will need to be made, lots of pics and posts too :-D :-D :-D

Happy and Safe Riding to Everyone, Peter.

It's great to see you posting again, Peter. There hasn't been a decent bracket seen round these parts in ages.
Now you are teasing us with 3 dimensional ones. :-D
I like that special fixing bolt for the side cover.

So good to read that you are well and not unexpected that you are busy! I expect soon to see a knob-mounted stubby Allen key for the bike's tool kit. Happy Easter (the happiest of Christian holidays)!
