I do get to Muskegon sometimes, and also head down toward St Louis but no plans at this time for either.

I don't get to St. Louis as much as I used to. In fact I lived there, or near by, many years ago. But it a nice day ride. And UPS goes there every day

Thanks Doug. We talked about that a while back and I think shipping would be too high and maybe dangerous. I did buy one today and got a good price. Got the tank, inner rear fender, removable frame section and a brake light switch all for a very low price. Probably could have taken more but I was on the bike and had limited room to carry stuff. Tank is very clean and still had gas that wasn't real stinky. I think I did ok.

Jeff, it would have been shorter time but I had trouble getting the rear wheel out. Ended up having to lift the bike very high to get enough clearance. Took the shocks off and let the swingarm drop to open the birth canal. Not my first rodeo.

Got her mostly back together today. Left the shelter off to test the 7 volt regulator. First I need to research where it is and what test points are available. Interesting point is the fuel and temp gauges seem to work properly and the fan cycles like it should. I did get a 14 volt reading at the fuel level sensor but not sure if I tested properly. Spent way more than two hours putting her back together but I also did several other things in the process.

Racked up a couple hundred miles and everything seems to be settled in. Neutral switch never did start working anymore than a flash here and there. Horn button was not making contact so it was replaced. Rode out to a 'Bike Night' the other day and a young guy expressed a lot of interest, we'll see.

Glad the fuel is not leaving the tank except in the fuel line. Good news all is well now.

Replaced the neutral switch today, kind of a messy job. Drained the fluids (again) to pull the transmission cover. Other than hard to reach bolts it went pretty smooth.Had to stop before I could finish but I was able to test it before I quit. Three wires come off the switch for what looks like all different functions. Neutral, overdrive and unknown. Not sure I even care about anything but neutral.

Neutral light functions as it should. Overdrive light comes on in 4th gear. Don't quite understand how that can happen because there is only one way to mount the switch and if the neutral light works then the rest should be a slam dunk. I'll either leave it alone and ignore the light or disconnect the wire. It's not worth going back in to try to correct it.

Just recall that it is a 4th gear light and it suggests you to up-shift after 3 minutes or so. It is a new feature and more important than an OD light.
