Yep. They screw right onto the end of the plug wires (unscrew the old ones first) Hint: there are 5k Ohm resistors in each plug connectors, so DO NOT use resistor plugs.

And do yourself a favor and trim a good quarter inch off the ends of the wires before installing the new caps.

NAPA and similar sources have them in their catalog.
5 bucks each is average price.

Great, thanks for the advice. Pretty sure I have resistor plugs previously purchased. Can I just remove the resistor like I saw somewhere (Randakk's maybe)?

Yes, my plan is to redo much or all of the harness. There are so many splices from the vetter fairing and excessive number of lights and who knows what other barn jobs.

You can, but are limited to the more expensive plugs after that. You can replace the resistor with the same length copper tubing or some solid copper wire.

Over the weekend I did some more organizing to make sure I have everything I need. Brownie points if you know why I bought this:

It's about 2ft long, Tygothane. I have a new fuel filter and fuel line so I don't think it's for that.

Took the old valve covers/gaskets off to take a look.

Looks fine to me. Went ahead and adjusted the valves and put on the replacement covers and new gaskets

They are dechromed and need a little polish. May end up painted but not sure about color scheme yet. I got these from Brian Crow (Rogue1000) years ago. I went to look him up and was saddened to find out about his passing. I never met him but I bought these covers and a set of carbs from him. He had no reason to do so, but he threw in a bunch of useful freebies for me, a total stranger. He was just passing on his love for the bikes. And from reading his memorial page he had many friends and was a great guy. Hopefully a little of his spirit can live on in this build. Ride on, Brian.

Is this the stock regulator for a 77? Seems aftermarket but not sure.

Can't answer the question about the regulator, but I'll take a stab at the hose: I think you might have bought it to run from the brake fluid reservoir to the rear master cylinder?

Good guess, but the 1000's have the reservoir mounted directly to the rear master, unlike the 1100's...

Had a little time to look at some of my electrical work that needs done. I need to replace a connector but want to make sure I have the right size. Does anyone know the gauge of the wires that run off the solenoid to the ignition switch and rectifier (red and red/white wires)?

Well, didn't get much time during July but finally got some time over the past week and made some progress. Got my electric patched up. Won't know if there are any gremlins til I get it running but everything is connected. Also put in my water pump and got the transmission/water pump cover back on. Took a lot longer than I'd hoped but was going fine. I was about finished and that's when I ended up snapping one of the bolts. It was giving some resistance before it was even seated and snapped about half way in. How screwed am I? Can a left handed bit get that out of there? Any other tips? I'm worried I'll have to pull the engine to get it out. It's one of the one's blocked by the frame.

IMHO, pulling the engine is easier than working around a frame rail. Sometimes a left-hand bit (a good one) will work, sometimes (although rarely) an EzOut. Often taking the cover back off will give you enough to grab.
