Fantastic work, and welcome back - quite the entrance. Good to hear about you're out of the woods so to speak. Your rim work reminds me of my early stock car days in the '60s. Dad did a lot of work on rims to make the cars go around the track better. Doesn't everyone have a 12 inch metal lathe and milling machine at the ready! LOL!! Very jealous.

Thanks for the encouraging comments Guys
I could have bought myself a second car or a new bike, but i opted for a lathe and milling machine along with some tooling for them, i don't use them often but when i do its more rewarding.
I have finished gluing the panel into the left saddlebag, just have to fit them and the air pump, then the rear end is nearly done, just have to finish the tail lights.
Awaiting the arrival a newer style airbox then the front end can be put together and i am on the road again

Its the pain that goes along with the white streak that may put everyone off ?

I knocked up a bracket for the air pump, those Nutserts are a great idea.
I also had to make a threaded tube to connect the two air lines together.

The saddle i have been using was off my 90SE (which will be my Naked 90 soon), it is brown in color and does not match the red paintwork, it has a tear and a small cut as well so i bought a new seat cover which arrived the other day.
I removed the old cover only to find that someone has been there before and ground the riders seat down for a stout person, i do not need to put my feet down with a sidecar so comfort is more important, i have to go down to a rubber store and get some sponge sheeting and glue to thicken up the seat to OEM levels.

You may find it hard to find sponge stiff enough to make a good motorcycle seat (we do here). What does work well is carpet padding (called rebond here) that is made of foam that is chipped up and reglued into a random looking sheet. Seems to be perfect for seat foam. 3M 80 spray cement (used to bond headliners in cars) works very well to glue it, and electric carving knife (DON'T use the wife's!) for rough shaping, sanders and grinders for smoothing.

picked some up from a carpet store and went to work.

I finally got around to fitting the tail light lens to the body using "Mastic D" to seal her of with.

G'day and thanks for the kind comments
I guess that many of you are in the same boat as me with my 76 GL-1000, the shelter key a different cut to the ignition key.
I leave the key in the shelter lock as when i get home i have to use the remote garage door opener which is kept in the shelter box.
A while ago i scored a set of chrome radio knobs for my GL-1500, i did not fit them as i do not like too much "Bling" also whilst riding in the sunshine too much is reflected into my face and that sometimes triggers a migraine which i then have to pull over and let it pass which takes 20-30 minutes.
I got my shelter key and inserted it into the shelter lock then scribe'd a line where it sticks out, gave it 1/4" extra and cut the head off, filed the edges down to fit snugly into the radio knob, drilled a little hole in the bit that sticks out the lock so the glue has something to hold onto and glued them together.
I never leave anything of value in the shelter when i go out so the chrome knob key stays permanently in the lock, most people don't know the shelter exists anyway.
You could also do this with the ignition key but you couldn't push the key all the way in to lock the steering, but it looks nice.
