If there is one thing I have learned throughout this process it is this: Check your respirator for spiders before you put it on.

G'day to Everyone
I am slowly recovering and my energy levels are on the rise, but still have to crash out on the workshop lounge a couple times a day.
To keep my mind occupied i am rebuilding the wiring harness for the 76-DJP outfit, it was a bit messy.
I am using good wires from a couple of GL-1500 wiring harnesses that i stripped down a while ago and i am getting rid of all the bullet connectors and replacing them with plugs.
It is a tedious job but i have the time and patience, i do make a few mistakes mainly cutting wires too short and wasting crimp-on terminals.
I am hoping to get back to work within 6 weeks, just have to wait for the final scans to make sure all the tumor has vanished.

Great to hear you are on the mend. I’m always impressed with your work. I have been trying to get my 1990 GL1500 back in running condition and your work has been inspirational for me.

Glad you are feeling better. I have some questions about the plumbing (vacuum tubes) on the GL1500 carb. Not the Valk. When you feel like messing with it. Maybe a PM or on here if you prefer and feel up to it.

G'day to Everyone
I have been messing on and off with my wiring (don't want to make mistakes by rushing things).
The rectifier wiring was very short and hard as fencing wire, i have a couple of spares so i gave it a go to replace the wires.
I removed the PVC caps and found the crimp terminals are riveted onto the rectifier outlets, two sets were also soldered, i picked the one that was not soldered and drilled the rivets out.
I got some yellow 1/4" male spade terminals and drilled the hole out to 1/8", crimped new wires onto them and riveted them in place.
I have since put 3 layers of heatshrink on each terminal and formed them into shape to miss the fuel tank.
It is smashing with rain at the moment from the cyclone coming down the coast, so no riding today.
I also sold my Valkyrie to my brother, he is happy but i am sad

G'day to Everyone!
Time has slipped away and another year is coming to an end and i don't have much to show for it.
The good news is that my Lymphoma has completely gone and now on the mend to return to work.
The bad news is that i was suffering from crippling headaches, Sinus infection! but the medications did not help so i had an MRI done on my head, i now have something growing under my brain
Had three biopsy samples taken, they went through my nose which they had to break and remove some bone material to access the area, this took a few weeks to recover from and the results were inconclusive, they don't know what it is?
Two weeks ago they went back into my brain via my nose again and took five biopsy samples, two come back with two different bacterial infections but the "Brown Rubbery Material" is still unknown? hopefully the results will come in within a week or two otherwise i cant go back to work until medically fit, i am on anti-biotics which are making me drowsy as hell but my spirits are still high.
My 76 DJP outfit is not finished but ride-able, the front left camshaft seal weeps oil which dribbles on my boot and she splutters a bit but fun to ride anyway.
My 88 HRD outfit was taken down for winter maintenance and some major modifications which have turned out to be a nightmare, but keeps my mind occupied and i do enjoy messing about with my bikes.
The major change was to fit a car tyre 195/55-R16 on the back and as it is illegal to fit a car tyre on a motorcycle rim i went the full hog and fitted a car rim onto my motorcycle hub.
I cut out some Aluminium biscuits on my milling machine to weld between the spokes, i had them welded in by a professional as i only just bought a TIG welder and my Aluminium welding skills are not up to scratch for something important like the rear wheel (yet).

I then bought a set of four 16 x 6" rims from the local paper, then cut the centers out of two of them (just in case i goof one up).
Then cut the outer rim off my rear wheel and had someone weld the biscuits in place.

I then machined the outer edge of my hub to run true and to be a snug-tight fit into the blank rim.
I had to improvise a splash guard as i was getting soaked in coolant as she spun in the lathe
