Finally a piece of freshly painted Tupperware
Fitted the fairing harness, instrument cluster and headlights, now i have had enough for the day and Dixie is getting under my feet as she is hungry.
Happy and safe riding to All, Peter.

I thought of that after I wrote it. Hahahaaawingrider wrote:It is rather humorous that we are speculating when he is done with work!
I was thinking that Peter would say, "None of your bloody business Yank!" Or something like that. (In that very cool Australian accent.)

Re: Pedro!'s rebuilding projects
G'day to All
Correct Guys, i am home again Managed to put a few things back onto the front end but stumped again as i am now waiting for a Proportioning valve fro my rear brakes (should arrive this week sometime).
Now that the Engineer has checked my sidecar chassis and fittings out, given the ok and snapped some photos i have ground all the welds off the fittings and dropped them off to the powder-coater's yesterday.
I have this Willy Wag-Tail that visits for free mealworms, when i have time i feed her by hand, i didnt yesterday and chuckled a little as Dixie froze whether from interest or the predatory instinct i dont know, she was motionless for about 5 minuets
Happy and safe riding to All, Peter.

Re: Pedro!'s rebuilding projects
Finally back again
my last break was totally ruined, i had "Jury Duty" for the week to listen about this scum-bag who had a habit of molesting drunk and drugged out girls.
The rest of the time i spent just riding around on the 76 outfit.
She handles extremely well but I hear scraping noises on hardish right turns (disk on brake caliper) so when i tear her down i will be making a new 20mm front axle and modifying the leading link to hold it.
She also stinks! i should have put new rings in her when i had her apart oh well its a reasonably easy job to do and I will do it all when she gets torn down for a paint job, but first the 88 has to be on the road first.
managed to get the exhaust and rear end on, then some painted Tupperware as they have to go on before the sidecar sub frame is fitted which i only just picked up from the powdercoaters
Happy and safe riding to All, Peter.

Re: Pedro!'s rebuilding projects
G'day to All!
I have got a few things done but not as much as i planned.
Bolted the chassis on and made up a brake line with the proportioning valve in an accessible spot.
Handbrake lever on just have to run the cable through onto the caliper.
The hub needs sandblasting and a coat of paint then that's ready to fit.
Happy n safe ridin to Everyone! Peter.

It is going to look like a brand new bike.
Bikes at present:
83 XL 600r with a 2004 XR650L engine
And a slightly worse for the wear BMW GS adventure bike awaiting repair
83 GL in process

Re: Pedro!'s rebuilding projects
Thanks guys
Things took a step backwards, i was trying to bleed the rear brakes and things were not as they should be
Finally i saw the puddle under the bike and realised tht the brake line joiner between the swingarm and fuel tank was only finger tight
You can barely touch it with your finger let alone put a pair of spanners on them.
Had to rip the complete rear end down to access them, oh well lesson learnt and all good now
Back to work again, so its "Happy and Safe Riding to Everyone!"
