Re: Pedro!'s rebuilding projects
I hauled one home a couple of years ago after seeing Pedro's, so far it is just sitting. I just can't seem to get my sandblast tank to feed properly. just keeps plugging up from the humidity. Have tried a bunch of different things and I can sort of get it to work if I shake the tank with one hand while sand blasting with the other but it is more trouble than it is worth so far.DocRoot wrote:Love the sandblast cabinet... those poly totes are available around here pretty cheap after their service for food transport then a second life for sap collection in maple sugaring... the third life as a sandblast tent looks promising!

Re: Pedro!'s rebuilding projects
I'm no expert on this, but what are you using for media? Is it dry to begin with? I've heard of folks using play sand, and that is strongly discouraged as it is silica and leads to silicosis. It is also very wet and clumps. In our blast cabinet at work we used either glass bead (I hated it as it shatters and makes glass dust that hangs in the air, gets everywhere, lacerates your lungs and sinus.) At home and as a preferred media at work was aluminum oxide - cuts fast and is very reusable. Re: Pedro!'s rebuilding projects
G'day to Everyone!
I put on just a smell under a stone, lost most of it now (good)
I will be getting the car tyre rim offset so there is equal distance both sides of the tyre, have to wait until the funds are available first.
I spent today looking over the 75 and seeing where I was up to, did some wiring, fitted the headlight, indicators all round and the tail light.
Back to Telfer tomorrow morning for another fun week in the heat and flies.
All the best to all, Peter.

is it humidity or moisture from your compressor?Easter wrote: I hauled one home a couple of years ago after seeing Pedro's, so far it is just sitting. Import a twelve-year-old child from Mumbai, India at fourteen cents a day to shake the sandblast tank as you use the sand-
blaster. Should do the trick.

If there is one thing I have learned throughout this process it is this: Check your respirator for spiders before you put it on.

Re: Pedro!'s rebuilding projects
Great work Pedro!
For Easter, if it's plugging your blaster, try a larger orifice in the nozzle, or, as 5-speed said, could be moisture in your compressor. But I'm betting you already have a water separator on your air hose??

Re: Pedro!'s rebuilding projects
Yes, water separator. I have a pressurized media tank and the problem is in the tank, not at the orifice. Have tried a multitude of media over the last couple years. Have a similar problem with my soda blaster.

Re: Pedro!'s rebuilding projects
G'day Everyone!
Another warm week in Telfer, the lowest maximum was 44C this past week
made up some new plug leads for my 75, took the plastic cap and insert from the old 1500 coils and glued a couple of "O" rings on, cut them to length, pushed an Awl into the ends and screwed them in place. Just have to cut them to length and fit the new plug caps on.
Been messing with the wiring to remove the ballast resistor and the diode that is in the starter circuit as I don't need them any more.
Hope to have more to show as the week goes on.
Happy and safe riding to all, Peter.
