Messing with the Naked 90 now, need to build the wiring harness wire by wire, but first I have to position all the electrics in a position that works and is serviceable later.

I have removed all the de-smog rubbish from her, one of the pains is the vacuum points in the front part of the intake manifolds, to block them I can push some pipe on then stuff a ball bearing down to block the airway, but this takes up valuable room and looks ugly having obsolete junk just hanging there.

So I Ripped the nipples out in the vice, tapped a 1/8" BSP thread and screwed a couple of bung plugs in. Much nicer now.

I have relocated several of the electrical components and made more permanent brackets for them.

Sorry about the photos, it was late, I was tired and shaky from lack of sleep.

This is how she looks now, a bit rough, it will all be dismantled when all modifications done, painted, powder coated polished and reassembled with care.

Happy and safe riding to All, Peter.

G'day to Everyone! :-D

Lots of planning, re-planning and more re-planning to get things in the right place, I think I have finally got it now.

Made bracket after bracket, my scrap bin is filling up with all the unwanted ones.

I am documenting all this as I feel I am not the only one who will do this as the 1500's become cheap to buy and the cosmetics are expensive to fix, thus you can build a unique machine that will chew up all your spare time and not cost a fortune.

Here are most of the brackets I have made so far, and a story of where they fit in.

I apologise for the poor quality photos but my trusty 13 year old camera bit the dust so I have to use my mobile phone.

The following photo is for the front right attachment point for the dummy tank, the first attempt was wrong so I made a backup plate to extend the hole out a little, this also adds a little strength.

There are only two mounting points on the frame so I bought a "Nutsert" tool and several sizes of fixtures, drilled a hole in the right place on the frame and set in an M6 Nutsert, this now triangulates the bracket.

The first bracket is to cable-tie the wiring harness to.

There re a lot of wires going all around the machine, I decided to take a shortcut across the middle, so the harness will need support to stop it chaffing and eventual shorting.

I used the cruise solenoid attachment hole on the flange of the tank to mount the voltage regulator and the port for the plug, also velcro'd the indicator flasher unit to the side of the tank (the reverse module will hold it there) and utilised the plug port for the cruise cancel switch for the flasher. I also removed two nuts from the fuel level sensor and fitted threaded rod joiners in place.

with all the fitting and removing of the dummy tank the support moves all over the place so I triangulated it to the reverse main fuse bracket so the saddle can also be fitted. This may be just temporary during construction or even a permanent fixture ???

The stock handlebars will not suit the imagined end result, so I cut the straight section out of each side, machined down a broom handle and hammered it down into the bars as a dowel, when happy with the angles I will weld them in place.

I had to trim the edge off the dummy tank sides to allow for the front edges of the saddle.
The rear end of the saddle will be trimmed off to like the Corbin Gunfighter? Gunslinger? or whatever it is called, and I am seriously thinking of not having facilities for a pillion either???
