M' lads & lassies, glad to see you all are still gallivanting around the Internet.
I was inflicted w/ a slight case of hermititus (irritation of the hermit). Luckily, I wasn't inflicted w/ an acute case of
hermitosis (severe inflammation of the hermit). The condition usually manifests when a great burden suddenly appears over the horizon: getting out of bed or loading the dishwasher or maybe even trimming those hard things at the ends of all the digits.
Decades ago I arbitrarily decided to make one & one only resolution: No resolutions. Ever. So far so good.
Presently, I am working on a new project. It's called Quality Over Quantity. These guys aren't exactly Moe, Larry, & Curly, but they're close. I think I love them.

Having never provided any commentary on this thread - although I've always followed and nothing I could have said would have added to the discussion beyond what our host done - finally, he gets my goat and reminds me that my meager supply of single malt (the cheap stuff) needs replenishing. Harumph. Thanks. Off to the store I go. (Dang, that's a nice selection).

I've detected a pattern in the universe. It looks like this:

That's shure some fancy likker you got there. I'll stick to my old crow, mainly because it's all I can afford.
My grandma use to say my great grandpa would have been an alcoholic but he couldn't afford it.

I think I have a leprechaun infestation. I woke up this morning to make coffee, & there was another bottle on display. Now, I have quintuplets!

I simply can't tolerate the playfulness of the little people. I won't call an exterminator, but I will have to get rid of them. There's an old method for elimination that was handed down through the ages by the people of Nova Scotia. When Eric the Red & Lief Erikson & other Scandinavian tribes landed on the shores of the Americas, the little people were hiding in the ships' holds, & when the sailors went ashore, the little people followed. And now they have proliferated throughout the continent. Most people don't know when they've been invaded by them.
To lure them out of the house, you need about a gallon of good Canadian maple syrup. You can't use Karo syrup, sugar water or some other cheap imitation; they're smart, they know. And you'll need a bottle or two of a good Canadian whisky (Forty Creek, Barrel Select will do nicely).
First, you can only try this method on the Summer Solstice because you need the shortest night. The little people are so rambunctious during the Winter Solstice that you can't divert their attention very easily. Second, set your alarm for about ten minutes before dawn. Start in the kitchen & dribble a healthy line of maple syrup along the floor for about three or four feet. Right there fill up a shot glass w/ the whisky; set it at the end of the dribble line. Dribble another line of maple syrup along the floor, leading out of the kitchen. Make your way to the front door or the one that faces East the most. Every three to four feet place the shot glass of whisky. Dribble the syrup out the front door & halfway across the porch, then place a shot glass of whisky. Leave the door ajar & go to bed. Do not check on the progress during the night; once you check, the little people know it's a trap & they vanish.
When your alarm sounds, tip toe into the living room & quietly close the door. Do not be tempted to peek outside. Simply close the door. Go make some coffee. Outside on the porch will be about a thousand little people in a big drunken stupor, passed out, gone, out of it, wasted, schnockered, blasted & unconscious. Please, don't peek through the doorway; it will embarrass them.
