OK, OK, OK, OK, boyz 'n grlz, there ain't no peer pressure here. Let's just do some rocket science type mathematics. I have a high tech, antique calculator right here on my desk. I don't even have to reach for my smart phone or dig around inside the bottom drawer of my file cabinet to locate the scientific calculator. I can do a moonshot from my captain's chair. I'm not bragging too much, but I do happen to have right here a Sharp EL-1197G II. That's the actual model # under all the dust.

So if I buy a Bushmills 16 year-old, single malt, triple distilled, three barrel whiskey for a mere $96 & do some math, I can completely justify the purchase. I can go with 750 ML divided by 30 days, which gives me a unit of 25 ML per diem. Or I can do some other math & get about .13 cents per ML. About $3.25 a day, USD.
Compare the purchase w/ beer. I can buy a Coronado Brewing Co. six pack for about $12 (plus CRV), and I can drink two six packs a week, easy (especially when I'm not competing w/ wheeliedog). Especially in the spring & summer. That's $24 a week or $96 a month.

Look at all the time & money I save by not driving to the store four times a month to buy beer! And another thing, beer has about a million calories per bottle; I have no idea how many calories are in whiskey; don't care. Beer has CO2; whiskey doesn't. I don't have to worry about when & where to expel the CO2. And because I don't have that extra chore of expelling CO2, that means whiskey is a thinking man's beverage, a philosopher's liquid aide, a wizard's magic wand or spell, a pondering person's potion, a simple drink for a simple man.

Here's the latest tiger in the tank. Not my favorite. How canya go through the distillation process & come out w/ mediocrity? I dunno. I bought the Macallan thinkin' it would be a fine addition to my collection, but then, as I was in the store trying to decide, I was thinkin', "Am I hijackin' my own build blog w/ chatter & chatter & chatter about Scotch?" It's got to be safe, as long as I'm drinking the stuff AFTER the ride on the Puppy, right? It's all about the quality of the beverage; it's all about the quality of the ride. And my ride is rather exhilarating.

Macallan says "fine oak triple cask matured;" I have an eleven hundred motor. Highland single malt scotch; Honda engineering. "Ten year old single malt scotch whisky" 1980 flat four, water cooled, shaft drive Honda Goldwing.


The Macallan is my least favorite. It lacks character. It lacks the flavor of the Ardbeg. It lacks the smoothness of the Glenlivet.
When I plow my Puppy through a corner at 40 degrees, there's character when the tires stick, the engine holds revs. No braking, only counter steering. Push. Push. Push.

This Macallan is nearly like a Mc Donald's milkshake---bland. When I push the Puppy through a corner, and he sticks & pulls me through, night or day, & I can flick 600 pounds of steel & stuff, yes, that's why I built the bike; that's why I reduced the 1980 river boat to a cafe unit. I don't need comfort; comfort has been reduced to a minimum, just so I can propel.

Yet it still took 3/4 of the bottle for you to decide!

It's obviously still drinkable, if you listed your preferences from 1 to 10, doesn't mean number 10 is bad.
That's like me with roast dinners. I will eat gammon, but prefer, in order beef, lamb, pork, chicken, turkey, and finally gammon!

Myself and my wallet are quite happy slumming with my $40 bottles of rye..
I actually went all in and paid $70 for a limited edition bottle of rye a month or so ago.

I may be a philistine but I think beer works the same for me. After a few beers I often think I'm clever....

I've solved a number of the world's problems just by drinking beer. Can never remember the solutions in the morning though

In defence of beer, I think it is a wonderful drink. It makes all the girls prettier. It makes you funnier. Beer also has a built in ingredient that works as a sobriety test. Water. You need to get up more often to pass it, and you will realize that your legs are a little unreliable before it's too late.

On the other hand whiskey you can sit and sip for hours whilst philosophizing. By the time you get up to walk you suddenly realize that something serious has happened to to your legs. They have developed their own independent will. Even if you noticed the pretty girl through your philosophical haze you won't be able to walk over, let alone walk her home.

I still have a whiskey stain on the front of my AC Cobra. I philosophized around a corner instead of taking it, and hit the curb.

Beer. The breakfast of champions.

These are two of my latest favorites, they are aged in craft beer barrels. They're kind of like those twins in school that didnt look the same or maybe they were brother and sister.

I highly recommend them both!
