Yea, I'm sure it's probably going to be the most complicated part of this build for me

Now that I have actually looked at the original air opening, I might just cap the front of the air box and only put a filter on the back..??..

I like the look of that plumbing. I hope it works with minimal fuss. You could get lucky.

Re: turning a 4 into a 6
Can anyone tell me what this leather/vinyl is called and where I could find it.. I can not seem to find anything close to that. I really like the uneven and color variations.

Re: turning a 4 into a 6
Try "distressed" leather, or some combination thereof ("worn", "vintage" maybe, etc.).

While I can't say for sure, that might be a custom job of a few different coats that have been cut up, and used for that application. Maybe check out a local second hand store for a couple different coats you could Canibilize.

I agree, that appears to be cut from a used leather jacket. The different shades/colors/tones comes from worn places like the undersides of the sleeves.wingrider wrote:While I can't say for sure, that might be a custom job of a few different coats that have been cut up, and used for that application. It also appears that it is an oil tanned leather to start with. That is what I used when I made my seat.

I will start hitting the goodwill stores. They are probably cheaper now that summer is coming.

You might check ebay too...if you search for "leather scraps" you could spend all afternoon looking through them...

Re: turning a 4 into a 6
Today I am working on some brackets to mount the ignition switch and the coil assembly. Just to clarify.... The engine cylinders are numbered 1,3,5 on the right (as you sit on the bike) and 246 on the left. Correct?
