Re: DeltaWing Build
"What model bike were the take-off H-D mufflers removed from, Sandy?
Are they Screaming Eagle performance accessory mufflers?"
Cliff: Swap meet mufflers so not sure what modal they came off of.
They have the offset mounting brackets of a Sportster.
I'll have to look closer bur I'm pretty sure not SE mufflers.

Re: DeltaWing Build
These units slipped nicely into the adapter between the header and the muffler.
The muffler clamp kept it tightly in place without any drilling.
Slight reduction in noise.

Re: DeltaWing Build
Found a set of HD takeoffs with the baffles still in place.
A little longer but they look good.
Significantly quieter, not GL quiet, but acceptable to me.

Re: DeltaWing Build
As a work in progress, I have used this winters down time to inspect the trike mechanical and to solve the fender issue. I found all the trike drive train to be in good condition after the summer shake down.
Purchased 4 x 16 gauge steel trailer fenders 9" x 31".
Sliced 1.5" off each one, butted them together and welded a seam up the middle, giving me 2 x 15" fenders.
Next build a supporting frame for the fenders and weld to the axle.
Powder coat the fenders and frame.
Found some Mini LED Tombstone tail lights for the fenders.

Re: DeltaWing Build
To continue, I found a pair of Mini LED Tombstone tail lights that looked good on the fenders.

Look like they’ll hold up.
Whatever I suggest here should be given ample time for a moderator to delicately correct. I apologize in advance.

Just thought yellow fenders might just be a little too much yellow.robin1731 wrote:Why black and not yellow? The fenders do look good btw.

It is, after all, a 77 and the sulphur yellow was a 76 colour.
I may just apply a yellow decal to tie everything together in the end.

Re: DeltaWing Build
So, every trike needs a beer box, right?
I had a couple of damaged Craven Panniers I picked up at some swap meet and decided they might work.
Cut a couple of inches off each one and fibre glassed them together as one gave me a 27" Top box.
