I've been looking around for a better set of brake calipers for the front of these bikes.

Looks like I may have found a solution.

The Brembo P32 and P34 apparently have the same (or VERY similar) center to center distance for the bracket mounting holes.

I have emailed a company who sells them to get some more specific measurements.

If it fits I will purchase and post back with results.

Has anyone ever tried this?

Would be a great option if they fit, wonder what master cylinder size is needed.

Should be very similar to the VFR setup so those of us who have VFR master cylinders should be good to go.

The Brembo's are close but not close enough. A bracket would have to be fabbed.

Work continues while I wait for the powdercoater to finish my frame and other parts.

Got the engine all sealed and the clutch hydraulics installed.

Blasted all the brakes and brackets so they are ready for paint.

Lastly, got a set of louvers in the mail. They accidentally sent me a row of 4 when I ordered a row of 7. No big deal the new set is in the mail.

I am planning on welding the louvers to the top of the shelter after cutting out the metal underneath. This should give some ventilation and a unique, one-off look to my bike.

My only question is, should I have the scoops face the front of the bike or towards the rear?

Got ahold of my powdercoater since they've had my frame for almost 3 weeks. They said it should be done by the weekend.

Frame is finally done at the powdercoaters but I will not be able to pick it up until this coming weekend.

I did however stumble upon a great deal and picked up this 1992 Kawasaki Concours!

It needs little things like tires, master cyl rebuild, tune up, etc but I cannot wait to ride!

Got my progressive front springs in! So i disassembled the forks and found these 2 small springs, one in each fork.

They are not on my parts fiche. Are they aftermarket???

Do I put them in with the progressive springs?

Nope. Add later if you need them. Being naked, you shouldn't.

Usually the progressive springs indicate if you need to use a spacer in the forks as some of their springs are used in a variety of bike applications and don't always fit a specific bike exactly out of the box.
The instructions will tell you if you need to fabricate a spacer for the GL application. Those springs as noted on your other post asking about them are not correct for the GL1000.
Current Bikes:

1966 CL77 - Honda 305cc - Dual purpose - "Gentleman's Scrambler" was a period moniker.
1967 CL175K0 - Low production number with #802 engine serial- winter 2019/2020 full restoration.
1972 CB350F - Baby Four with low mileage - Cosmetic refresh to the next level 2021/2022.
1978 CB550K - Very original bike with only 7499 Km. from new - light cleanup and refresh done.
1983 CB1100F - Canadian model - DOHC Supersport in pristine low kilometre condition from new.
1984 GL1200 - Standard model in showroom condition - two owner bike from new.
1984 CX650E - Restored summer 2017 - a rare Eurosport model - excellent one owner bike.

Re-read the instructions, no spacer needed for the GL1000.

I am picking up the frame from powdercoating tomorrow! Yay!

Tonight I went into the garage and hooked up my master cylinder to make sure the GL1200 with hydraulic clutch conversion was working. After bleeding the heck out of it, it worked!

Ready to install the engine now!
