Hondaline Bag Instructions

#1

Post by Fred Camper »

Bought a set of sharp Hondaline bags from Inspector today. Came with all keys, boxes and installation instructions. Thought posting the instructions would be helpful.

I put this in Google Docs so I do hope it shares okay. It is a PDF currently so I could not attach it directly.

I've wanted some bags for my '78 for quite some time so that I could take it a bit further from home. The Valk is a nice interstate steed, but I'd like to really let the old 'wing stretch its legs occasionally. But, it's pretty hard to travel on the darn thing with a solo seat, no rack, bags or anything. I have a magnetic tank bag, but that won't even work!

So, I've been looking for a while and finally found a nice, almost pristine set of Samsonite Hondaline bags here locally for a very attractive price.

Although installing these things is pretty straightforward, having the original instructions is very cool. Thanks again to Fred for this!

Stopped diagonally on a driveway unexpectedly and the bike leaned slightly left and my leg was too short on the slope. So down we went. The left bag took the brunt of the hit. The bottom bracket was bent but repairable. The bag itself had a minor scuff. They are strong bags even after some 40 years of age.
