1975 GL1000 Newbie Project
I posted my new bike here: https://www.ngwclub.com/forum/viewtopic ... 33#p695933
My goal is to bring the bike back into stock condition. So much of these add-ons have to go!

The first thing to go is the fairing.
Anyone want it?

Re: 1975 GL1000 Newbie Project
Looks like the previous owner must have bottomed out the forks. This is a pretty bad dent. And there's rust from under the fairing mounts.

Bags are gone. Sissy bar frame and luggage rack are gone.
Harley exhaust is next on the chopping block.
She's looks better naked!

Harley pipes are gone. Does anyone have a trick for mounting the original exhaust? Or do I need to remove the rear tire?

TikkaJ, nice work on the bike and looks like you've already attracted a cute biker babe.
Per chance do you have any pics that show how your rear rack was mounted over the standard grab bar?
I just purchased the very same rack from fleabay. I needed someplace to mount at least a small storage area but still wanting to be as naked as possible. I know I'll ruin the looks, but I do that every time I get on the bike...I ain't purdy.
Thanks, and nice project have fun restoring her.

Re: 1975 GL1000 Newbie Project
Thanks very much, it seems my mount is a bit different, I may have to take the std hand rail off to fit mine.

Tikkas are really taking off here now that Beretta owns them. My shop supplies parts worldwide for them.

Re: 1975 GL1000 Newbie Project
Nice 1975 and good job getting the fairing and bags off it. Much easier to move around now.
Nice to see your daughter hanging with dad in the garage.
