Wow. I guess I didn't realize you are relatively close by. I've dealt a bit with Suter's, some good, some so-so. The previous owner of 'Grumpy' took it there for work, as I understand.
Just putting it out there, I'd be happy to lend a hand if or when you need it, and I'm always open for a ride!

Current Rides:
'Grumpy' - '81 Standard, now fully dressed.
'Layla' - '81 Standard w/dealer installed fairing and Hondaline bags.
'Scarlett' '76 'Survivor' nekkid as a j-bird!

Under Construction:
The 'Jalopy' '78-'79 Mash-up
'Quikie' '81 gl1100I back on the lift, project with the step-son!

In The Shed:
'81 gl1100I barn find aka "Josie, the farmer's daughter." (almost comatose build)
'77 gl1000, roller parts bike.
'82 gl1100I, 'Old Crusty' titled roller parts bike (free!)
'82 gl1100I, My first 'Wing, and an expensive lesson!

Well $700 later, she is road worthy. Took her and the wife for a little 50 mile scoot. Sooo nice to ride :)

Only plan in the immediate future is to lower the side bags about 2-3". My stubby legs kick them every time I get off her. So if anyone has thoughts how to do that?....

Exhaust will have to shift a bit. Was thinking of just cutting the bottom tabs and welding in a drop tab.

I lowered my saddle bags a few inches, but I welded new racks/mounts to hold them. I also lowered my exhaust.

Very easy to do since you weld.

Not sure what else was needed besides starter, battery and brakes but glad to hear she is back on the road.

Carbs needed a clean. Pilot jets were plugged solid from sitting. That and a good old tune up.

Yup, we sure do miss you. You and your lovely lady were highlights in some of my trips. Maybe someday I'll make it down to Florida (you should change your location in your profile) and catch up with the two of you.
