Sorry for posting all my previous on "welcome"
I'm getting the hang of this! type1
To all the members that have me a cool thumbs up on my publications a big thanks action1
This is the progress I made since May 19 2018 till now, brought the bike in Puebla a state in México after 8 years looking for a naked 78 in farely good condition. Thanksl for your posts that guided me trough the my caos and ignorance on the matter, the bike I bought was in fairly good condition except for brakes, electric, upholstery and paint. Originally thought it was black but turns out underneath had traces of silver and then the original purple!? Doing a few things at a time douring the week at night after work, I'm in the maintenance business, so have a few toys like the sowing machine for the leather upholstery, so I'll post my progress since.

In some of the pics the light green stripe on the air filter covers are thiner that on the past pics the thing is it looked like it needed more weight or presence so I had to polish the Laker to erace it and that's why I leave the light tones for last and I apply a crear coat between Laker layers, it gives a depth to the paint job and allsow the finish is super smooth without almost any fine sanding between layers.
Hope you guys enjoy! anim-cheers1

Now just change your belts. Good write up in Shop Talk so take your time and follow the instructions. No special tools needed!
Any problems or questions just ask.

Awesome paint job! (And the leather work is great, too!) Changing the belts really isn't that difficult, especially if you are patient and pay attention to details, which, judging by your paint and upholstery work, you seem to be. I've found it best to loosen all the valve adjusters after getting the engine at TDC (you'll want to properly adjust the valves anyway).

I concur, leather and paint just seem to match up beautifully!

I did it party2 !!! Changed my belts dancr old ones were shiny and hard, just in time. Thanks to all for the awesome advice, it was pain to remove the radiator and a great to install it back on and already had the hard and the scoops of for paint. Relatively clean inside the belt covers but no heat wall on mine? My hoses seem to be just fie. Broke one of the tow coolant pump screws while tightening.... Wasn't me, the thing was so brittle, so I used one of the bottom radiator holding screws that are allsow M6 just 3mm longer but it fits. There's a tip if you get a bad screw and a leak.
Runs great after belts but notecid slight of tone and less power, need to do de valves ASAP.
Afain, thank you all for the advice, encouragement and the forum!!!
And ofcourse more pics.

Even the darned helmet gets leather. Dang. Very nice, original project. How are the 1100 carbs working for you?

Sorry I have no idea are my carbs 78gl1000? Ok gl1100? Don't know but they seem to be fine, same noise on each head, good acceleration and clean running. The things is that I don't know much about these bikes but slowly finding people that worked on them in the past that can do the things I don't know how, it's been hard to get parts for it, Honda dealers go crazy and start scratching their heads when I call them looking for parts! I reasenty broke the pull trottle cable, the pull was already gone when I bought the bike... So no riding for me, the cable sleeves are so rusted on the inside that I can't have them rebuilt, can't import them can't find them here, so sad... Overall good and waiting for new parts arriving on March.
