Re: 1983 GL1100 New Build
Needless to say, there is still some wet sanding to do. But I am very happy with the color. This paint is pitch black until the light hits it. I was scared. I had never painted with a pearl paint before. But outside of the dust, I think it came out great. I cant wait to get the trim pieces back on.

yes.... just didn't take pictures. I know it was stupid, but was in a rush yesterday. Painted in the morning and went to the Atlantic City Boat Show right after.robin1731 wrote:Primer/sealer under the color?

As you can see. I liked the color so much, I painted my travel coffee cup too. This way it matches the bike when I put it in the cup holder. LOL

isn't it always amazing the colours you find under the factory colour of the bike. my 1200 had multiple Honda versions under the wineberry

The other thing I find incredible is all the imperfections you see after paint that you didn't feel with a bare hand before hand. lolrcmatt007 wrote:isn't it always amazing the colours you find under the factory colour of the bike. my 1200 had multiple Honda versions under the wineberry

I still need to paint the trunk and repaint the saddle bags. They got scratched in the shed. Darn kids...LOL. Felt great riding it out of the tent I have been working in.

Re: 1983 GL1100 New Build
I know that it has been a while since I posted. The Goldwing got the better of me. Shortly after posting my last video, my wife came in the house yelling about a gas smell in the back yard. So I went outside. And boy was there. Not only that, but my lovely Goldwing was sitting in the middle of a pond. About 5 gallons of gas. Carb float must have stuck and dumped the fuel through the cylinders. Into the oil and everywhere else. So. I knew the carbs had to come back off. So, as any of you that have ever had to push one of these beasts know.... they are NOT light. So, after unsuccessfully trying to coax my 2 teenage boys to help. I decided to push it in the shed myself. Across the lawn. About halfway across, I felt the pop and tear. I tore the biceps tendon clean off my left forearm. NOT FUN!!!!!!!! So, while I did get them off. I sent them to Pistol Pete for rebuild. Of course, I got them back too late to get them back on to go for a ride. I had surgery to repair the damage last Wednesday. Doc says about 6 weeks. before I can get back on. I just hope he is right.....

Immediately, go down to juvy hall & pick up two new teenagers who will appreciate you & help you. I used to just drive past juvy hall w/ my son just to let him know who's boss. It worked.
If there is one thing I have learned throughout this process it is this: Check your respirator for spiders before you put it on.
