Just wanted to show a quick build I just finished up!
I bought a 1975 GL1000 from a Goldwing mechanic named Don who had his shop in Fairfield, CA called WING NUT. Last year he moved his shop to Georgia and I was able to purchase this motorcycle. It was all there, all in pretty good shape, it just needed that extra push to make it complete.
I've been working on my main project and didn't want to go too crazy on this build. My aim was to keep it nearly stock but a little more sleeker.
SMALL THINGS:
I cleaned up the engine of some decades old grease, polished the fork tubes, polished the valve covers.
Found some missing wiring, soldered some new ones to complete the set up.
Rebuilt the front brakes
It was missing a rear fender, found a new one and rear brake light (wiring needed).
MEDIUM THINGS:
I decided to do drag bars to give it that "sleeker" look. I already had a fresh powder-coated triple tree that I could use along with already trimmed clutch and throttle cables, so this wasn't too crazy of an update, but the look it gives the bike is dramatic. I love the bars lowered, I just think it is so much smoother.
BIG THINGS:
Fresh coat of Black Cherry Paint! I wasn't sure what color I was going to go for, but a buddy at an auto shop was painting a car this color and as long as I did the prep work before paint, it was all good! I really liked the color. The bike POPS in the daylight and looks almost black at night.

Re: Black Cherry Project
Put the new battery in this morning and it started right up! Little tweaks need to happen, but here is Black Cherry:

Re: Black Cherry Project
Took her out for a little local ride today and she was moving and handling great! Maybe it's time to actually get this bike registered....
Also finally added some turn signals and did a custom mounting for the rear turn signals =).
