The shield is excellent, keeps the wind off my chest but little else. My entire helmet is in the breeze but it's undisturbed air and that's the way I've always liked it. I don't remember the brand ... it came from Brant, maybe he remembers. Next time I'm out there I'll see if there's anything stamped on it.

The guards are bigger than the ones (Hondaline) that came on the bike but hey, they were free and I had been dumb enough to give away the originals.

Polkadot suggested that I check with CyclePsycho for the cover. Di..nt think of that, doh!

The shield looks like mine and it is a national cycle. Roady is right, relief to chest only. A full helmet is still required.
Hope for the best, expect the worst and take what comes!

Something different to celebrate my 10k ... Image

... I'd thought I'd resurrect this thread from page 5 and throw out some thoughts.

Winnie's mismatched and un-match-able paint has got me thinking about a color change. I've always been partial to BRG (British Racing Green) and really started liking it a lot when I owned my '96 Sprint.

Image

Then Richard did up Brain Damage in that very color and that increased my fondness for the color.

Image

I'm thinking new paint because her new bags and left side cover are totally wrong, bags are satin black and the left cover is ... um ... purple(?). There are scars, scratches and pockmarks on every other colored part (except the rear fender). I just recently got a gravity fed spray gun and haven't ever done any "real" spray painting. Perhaps I'll get some practice first and paint the Cub Cadet.

Now to look into paint and such.

Being a real fan of "patina" this may not happen if I can find or figure out how to match the original.

Congrats on getting over the 10k hump. Cosmetic changes are a good way of getting a different bike while keeping your old familiar one. That color is awesome.

I have seen you in action and I believe that with a can of paint in one hand and a bottle of scotch in the other good things will happen!
