My yellow 75 finally gets love

This 1975 goldwing was the first one I bought about 8 years ago. It was a retired mechanics at a local honda dealership original bike. It was anteres red but in 76 he switched to yellow panels and installed Lester mags. I also have the spoke wheels too. I rode it right away and fell in love with the gl1000. It lead me to buy and restore 7 other 75-gl1000’s you can find here somewhere. I built a red 75 for my wife but she always liked the yellow. She’s put over 20,000 miles on it in the past few years and I really had no time to restore it for her. Well this summer she was deployed as a nurse on a navy ship so I tore into it and gave it the love it deserved. After restoring 7 other 1975 goldwings I have quite a stash of parts sitting around so I tore her apart. I dint want a perfect restoration because she rides this bike everywhere
I stripped her down to the frame and painted and applied new warning decals. Replaced front and rear fenders with new ones, new rear tail light. Replaced the worn grab rail with one of my better ones. Replaced the headlight. Rebuilt and repainted front and rear brake calipers and master cylinders. Installed NOS OEM side panels. Refinished the radiator cooling wings that were painted incorrectly by the previous owner. Refinished the radiator. Refinished the tach and speedo and replaced cables.refinished the triple clamp and installed new bearings. Repainted the swing arm and ful tank. Of course I replaced every nut, screw and bolt with factory OEM new ones. Not perfect but it will be ridden every good day again for years. My other bikes get switched around for riding days.

Now, that's just plain greedy!

Quite a line-up!

This is not criticism 'cos you probably did, but no-one ever says 'checked and greased the swingarm bearings' when they do a refurb. In my book, having seen what so many of them are like though neglect, it's an essential.

I didn’t on this bike but yes the swing arm/drives shafts/differentials come off on most my other restorations. To service, clean and paint dancr
