Great work, perhaps your side stand is shorter than you like. Mine was the same but I have an 1000 with a 16 inch rear so a bit different. In my case a CB750 stand was the perfect inch taller and stands the bike up better. Your actual milage may vary.

So I took Dixie for her first official ride today - quick spin down the Hwy and onto some back roads.

Very nice bike. I have no background in these ‘wings so didn’t know what to expect.

The power really comes on above 4k rpm, super balanced, easy to manipulate for a bike this size…

This is why we keep riding our old Naked Wings. Quite a nice balance.

You've brought her a long way. She deserves a nice long ride.

I’ve done a couple of quick local rides; waiting on the humidity to break and then we’ll give her a workout!

Bought it rusted out on eBay. The width and bolt pattern matches my 1200 perfectly. All I had to do was cut a bit off the inboard side of it to get the clearance I wanted. Otherwise direct bolt on.

Here's how it came to me:

Image

I cut off a few inches behind the bolt holes; conveniently, that was where the rust pitting was. Media blasted and treated the rust, then epoxy primer and paint.

I filled in the misc holes and re-drilled for my tail light and some pass-thru holes with grommets for the wires. there is also a flexible wire retainer underneath that came in handy.

I believe I also ran a bolt vertically down from the frame crossmember thru the fender to stabilize it front to back, at the proper angle
