Re: The NEXT Project.
Inside of the headlight bucket was a bit rusty, so it got wire brushed and hit with a coat of zinc based paint.

Re: The NEXT Project.
I have found these selection boxes to be great, have been most helpful to me more than once.
A set of bolts from a stripped down LTD bought from a bike breaker on ebay.

Re: The NEXT Project.
The engine for this bike is currently split to replace parts inside.
I have all that I need to put the engine back together, but first I want to paint the parts with engine enamel and put them into an oven to cure.
I am trying to find a paint that is a close match to the LTD paint colour.
The only paint I have tried so far is a product from Simoniz.
I cleaned down a few bits and painted them.

This front cover I cleaned off and fitted an old oil filter cover and an old water pump cover to mask up the gasket faces.

Re: The NEXT Project.
The back cover and the clutch cover seemed to have reasonable paintwork.
They were quite dirty.

Re: The NEXT Project.
After cleaning down I found that they were indeed in quite good shape, albeit the paint was a bit discoloured in areas.
I am not going to paint these in the interests of trying to keep things as authentic as possible.
