Dot3 or Dot4 will work. You can mix those without issue.

You can use ATF or fork oil either one. ATF is ~7w. So you can change to a different weight fork oil to change the ride a bit.

As Robin says. In addition I think most old manuals state Dot 3 cause that was likely "state of the art" 40 years ago. Dot 4 boiling point is 45 degF higher than Dot 3 so in my opinion better. When I changed over my 78 and 83 I made sure to pump enough new fluid through to make sure to flush out all the old Dot 3. Wasn't hard to tell as the old stuff was discolored and grungy looking.

Ahh good to know... Any tips on making one? Is there a post for that?
There should be pictures of them here somewhere. I just use my imagination, and keep in mind both form and function

So.. I tackled the belts, and as a good pupil, forgot to attach the spanner to prevent it to move... And as it moved... I now have two marks... And forgot which one was aligned... I think in the red dot... If I reassemble the thing and turn by hand I should not cause any damage, but will I feel if not ok?

The red dot (upper mark in your pic) is the correct one. If you look closely, you'll see a small arrow just to the right of it cast into the pulley. Once you install the belts, it is good practice to turn the engine over by hand several revolutions and re- check your marks. I also readjust the tensioners

Things are going well... Waiting for belts to arrive and painting bit's and pieces...

Restom as a paint to retouche frames with a brush, guarantee no marks, anyone as already used it?

Painting the engine in the frame is never the best result but it actually got better than expected...

It's what I thought... Always good to have confirmation from masters... :)

Some progress.... Bits and pieces... The paint I used is a inox spray... Works very nice... Makes an excellent finish and no drips...

And some polishing... Shine!!!
