Re: '77 Wing "Forever Bike"
Yay!!!
Took about 10 min to loosen up the motor, unclip the driveshaft and maneuver the motor to get the cover on with far greater ease. Def not fighting it with the motor in place again!!!
Fingers crossed the gasket holds!!!

Re: '77 Wing "Forever Bike"
Battery tray is nearing completion. Have to whip up a starter cable from part pos to starter solenoid. Also need to figure out what to do with the stock reg/rec wiring terminals, as there's not a lot of room I want to give up...
Small steps!

Re: '77 Wing "Forever Bike"
Pics of the fuel pump mounting. Used the laser at work and a paper template to whip this up. Needs some final finishing, but overall this is solid. Will whip up a stock fuel pump block off plate next.
Will have this ran to a relay and tip over switch for safety.

Re: '77 Wing "Forever Bike"
Figured out placement of my aux fuse block and relays.
Power will go from batt to fuse block, which will feed 3 relays. One for horn (denali soundbomb, pending I can get it to fit!), One for headlight (both high and low beams) and the one for the "aux" circuit (ignition, fuel pump, aux lights).
This will leave one spare fuse location should I need it. Nice and hidden and should be hidden enough from the elements.

Re: '77 Wing "Forever Bike"
Finalized auxiliary wiring and everything works beautifully. Hi/low relays for the headlight, horn relay and an "aux" relay powering the dyna ignition, fuel pump and driving lights. I even added a wire to the key switch to power up the ACC position (using a later model keyswitch as I needed to replace the existing one and had this in my pile). Ran all 4 of these fuses thru a 50A blue sea circuit breaker.
I used lever locks for the aux relay circuit, the relay grounds and the ACC position, should i need it for future relays or light duty fused power.
Also, now have inline fuse holders for the main fuse and the reg/rect. Wired up the charging port for a trickle charge.
Found some amber reflectors/ with LED's in them for the headlight bolts, so those will be wired up as running lights (they're 3 wire lights, but the turn signal function is too much work for not enough reward). Those will be powered by the acc circuit for easier removal in the future.
Installed the NGK plug caps and removed the stock resistor to replace w/ a length of #8 (or was it #6) copper. The bike came with Dyna suppression wires, so no need for the cap resistors.
Currently working on the best cable/hose routing for throttle, clutch, tachometer. Still need to measure for and order brake lines front and rear, wire up the back end (turn sigs, main and aux brake/running lights, etc), tighten up the front end (follow the how to's here and on Randakk's site), install exhaust, fix side covers and do a deep clean and i should be good to go to test fire. Also need to make a mount for the horn (will be sealing someones idea from here to install my Denali) and finish the mount for the rear master cylinder and reservoir. Also need to bleed the clutch and eventually brakes.
Everyone do their dances that I built the carbs right and don't have any leaks from anywhere! (especially the clutch cover!!!)

Got the rear MC mounted up, need to figure out where to run the reservoir next.... Maybe a p clamp on the frame rail.
Will order brake lines today as well

Re: '77 Wing "Forever Bike"
Will order brake lines tonight. Venhill has some of the best prices i've found for "universal" lines and has colors at no extra cost. Quality seems to be top notch too. https://www.venhillusa.com/make-your-ow ... ine-1.html
For those interested, I'm switching over to 2 single lines up front (Right side - 89 cm, left side - 96 cm) with lower straight banjos and 45 degree uppers. The rear is 48 cm long with a MC straight banjo and a 90 degree at the caliper. I'll run this over the top of the swingarm and tuck it away from harm from the tire.
Front lines will be ran above the headlight ear and behind the bucket. I'll use some P clamps on the stock splitter block mounting holes and then use the lower guides to ensure no binding or similar issues.
Please note, I have euro/superbike bars on here, not stock ones. I'm using new Nissan master cylinders for front & rear brakes and clutch as well.

Re: '77 Wing "Forever Bike"
Right side pipes installed. Lower hanging than I remember, but tucking the lower pipe up next to the upper is impossible with the center stand. I sure hope the center stand works on the left side, it's been so long that I don't remember any quirks they have....
Anyways, some pics for those interested in how it mounts up.

Re: '77 Wing "Forever Bike"
That is an interesting exhaust system. I presume it is Stainless. It would be interesting to hear it.
You mentioned a laser at work in the posts about the fuel pump. That is a nice perk to have.

Ya, it's a 4-4 full stainless system with Cone Engineering megaphones.
Yes, the laser can be handy for brackets and whatnot!

Re: '77 Wing "Forever Bike"
Swapped the subframe and got the left side to fit.
Got the brake lines mocked up too, can't recommend Venhill enough based on my experience so far!

Re: '77 Wing "Forever Bike"
Rear master cylinder reservoir installed, just need a hose to connect them.
Also, finalize the rear turn sigs. Found some nice enough condition gl/cb signals on ebay. Drilled some holes in the rear tombstone, and easy mount. Lic plate is a little in the way, but there will be enough light back there to make up for it. Signals are already 3 wire, so really no need to run a trailer run-turn-brake controller...
That's an Ohmics deceleration controlled brake light. Nifty and bright, controllable patterns, really cool. Those are RIDICULOUSLY bright led bolts above and below. Then reflector bolts to the sides. Then sole 1157 led bulbs in the housings. A knight riderz led bar will go under the lic plate to help visibility further. Should be quite attention grabbing when it's all said and done.
