Weak valve springs.
I decided to clean the heads and valve train myself. Cleaned the crud off the valves, checked the lobe and bearing clearances and lapped the valve seats, all looking within specs and reusable.
But, the valve springs are out of spec.
The spring force pressure is supposed to be 113.6 psi for the outer and 63.5 psi for the inner.
I measured 90 psi and 50 psi.
I see the springs are not available anymore.
I this going to be a big problem?

Also, how can I get the points mechanism off the cam shaft to replace the oil seal, and back on?
I have yet to learn how to adjust a points ignition system and am afraid I won't get it back on the right way.

Thanks.

Remove the capscrew and the complete advancer assembly carefully slides off the camshaft stub. Don't attempt to disassemble the advancer assembly.
note: The advancer assembly is indexed onto the camshaft with a small diameter knock pin . Make sure not to lose it when the advancer assembly slides off.

It does not want to come off.
Only the front parts with the springs want to move.

Best advice will be coming along soon. ;)
I have very limited experience with my trike's engine, only.
As I vaguely recall from the only time I removed it in 2012 when I was installing my Dyna S system, the advancer assembly on my engine slid off the camshaft stub without a lot of resistance after that one cap screw was removed.

I agree. Removing the cap screw should allow it to come off.

I removed the cap screw.
The rear ring does not move.
I tapped it gently with a peen.
Should I use a 3 jaw gear puller?

I would soak the end with a penatrating oil first. From the picture looks to be corroded a little.

Yes it was. Soaked it and used flat stock to slightly bang against it.
Now I can fit a new oil seal and bolt it back to the head.
The manual says to apply sealer to the cam holder and cylinder head surfaces.
Why?
Isn't the whole assembly getting oil ?
All I have is Yamabond.

As for the springs, I measured the springs out of my '82 gl1100 motor and they were much closer to the recommended spring force so I used these. Dimensions are the same.

If you have Yamabond, that was some good stuff! I would save it for more pertinent times. Clean up the end of the cam a bit though. :)

I still had some gascacinch that I will use for that.

But, while cleaning up the heads, some silicone sealer came out around these plugs
Are these freeze plugs?
Why was sealer in there?
Did they leak?

They are casting plugs, and although they're not known to leak, I've heard a few instances. I've never seen any type of sealer on the heads I've done...

Those are casting plugs. They need sealer on them. But silicone isn't a good choice. There really is no need to remove them. So someone must had them out at sometime. Gaskacinch or permatex aviation sealer is what I use.
