btw i deleted the keys too. the m-unit is bluetooth so you can control the whole thing from your phone. battery voltage is monitored on the app and there is also an alarm. will that make my insurance go down?

this unit is useful for us in 2 ways:
firstly, since we are vintage bike owners, for anybody not doing a period correct restoration this will bring the electrical system up to date.
second, if you are looking for a more stripped-down or "minimalist" kind of a look you can do the motogadget conversion and hookup the ignition circuits, head and tail lights, and stop there. if you want to add other stuff later you can.

I can’t thank you enough for all your information and pictures. My GL1000 will not be a period correct restoration, but a restomod build with many upgrades.

I’m working on a wiring diagram and drawing it up in PowerPoint. It will have different sections of the wiring on each page.

I have ordered Motogadget switches, m-Unit Blue, breakout box B, Motoscope Pro, cable kit, mo lock,Tens4 & 2 signals for now...

I will keep you up to date as I progress with the build.

Looking forward to starting and the challenges this will present.

Well on my way with my installation of an M-unit Blue on my 77 with Motogadet switches, Bar end turn signals, mirrors, grips, and more. Started wiring the bars and mocking things up yesterday.

Machined a bracket to mount the M-unit to the inside shelter. Wiring the M-Unit, starter circuit, and ignition this week. Using a Revival Solenoid along with their loom, and wiring kit. I have a new Reg/Rec that will be mounted on the battery box. I'm not using any of the original wiring harness with the exception of the stator and fuel gauge wires. Will be installing a Moto-Gadget speedometer and will start machining a mounting bracket for it shortly.

I will share some pictures of my installation as I progress.

Moto Gadget M-Unit is installed and everything is working. Building a bracket for the M-Lock and once that is done my wiring is complete with the exception of the new 7 volt regulator for the gas gauge.

Also Revival Cycles starter solenoid is very nice with a built in main fuse. A lot cleaner once installed

So happy I went this route. Once you get your head wrapped around the way Moto Gadget works, it an easy install.

A few more pictures showing some of the details I need to finish, and my new controls, switches, bar end turn signals, and mirrors.
Once done I will finish the looms I made up.

You're on your way - great to see. I too had a great experience the m-unit - planning a cb550 with it now.
