Janis

Post by Kingpin06 »

Some of you probably have seen my post in the introductions. I have a 78 that went through the joplin tornado. I've decided to call her Janis. This thing is turning into a dream come true. I've always wanted a naked wing. Early. The first ones were the sexiest. In 78 they had everything figured out. No more burnt clutches. I'm in heaven coaxing this old girl back to life. Whoever owned it before took excellent care of it. I'm loving it!

Yep, 78 was the best year. But, I might be a little biased.

My first wing was a 78 and I have always been partial to them. A bit less performance than the earlier ones but increased fuel economy and a slightly better mid range. Enjoy!!

I've had a couple. The '78 with '75 engine (the Hunley) I still have, and the '78 (Johnny 5) fence row rescue that I rescued and sold to a friend who is riding the wheels off of it. Both solid bikes, now.

Once Janis was suggested that became it. I got a headlight, and a speedo cable yesterday. Put them on and one step closer. Now I have to order the belts from rock auto, and change the oil. Oh yeah I have got to clean the carbs yet. Probably get that done first.
