Re: Janis lives!
They've got them on Amazon plenty cheap. I've used them plenty of times on other projects, and they've worked fine. Pressure is good and flow rate is plenty. The only thing is I really like the looks of the stock pump.

Re: Janis lives!
There are threads on replacing the stock pump diapragm. A quick summary is here: https://www.ngwclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9967 Also, 1000 (1100 fit too) pumps come up on ebay. Still very old, though. What I haven't seen a fix for is the pump's check valves which seem to be phenolic.

Dropping the seat off tomorrow. Got a lady at work that does a pretty good job on reupholstering. Was thinking about going a little shorter, but I think I'll just have her do it in stock configuration.

Pulled the seat, installed new rear brake pads. I was going to tag her when I got the seat back, because it think I'll wait until spring. The I'll have the forks rebuilt by then. Any suggestions on fluid?

Re: Janis lives!
I think I've run ATF on every set of forks I've rebuilt. Never had any complains. Heck, the manual recommends it for the GL1200.
1997 Valkyrie- Light Cutomization, but Too Busy Riding
1980 KZ1300- Bike's Haunted
1976 GL1000 (Yellow)- It Runs (Poorly) and Doesn't Leak (Mostly)
1974 Velosolex 3800- Better Than Walking
1972 CB750- Broke the Chain And Ate the Motor
1969 CT90- The Most Fun You Can Have on 90ccs.
1965 CA77 Dream- Needs a Full Teardown, but Complete
All advice I give is only valid until an expert corrects me.

Re: Janis lives!
Just make sure the tubes are slick, no dings or rust (rust is actually worse than dings).
