Here are a couple of pics of the initial mockup.
Anybody want to guess what the seat/tail hump is made out of?

Re: GL1000 Goldwing - Land Speed Racing Record Holder
As I am ready to start another project here in the shop,
today I rolled the racing bike out of the way and threw a cover on it.
For anyone who might be interested, First, I took a few shots of the workings of the bike.
Pretty simple wiring:
(this is all inside of the stock battery box)
Magna coils, Dyna wires:
Electric fuel pump, Fireproof fuel line cover:
Gauges, Controls, (I made the chin pad out of a flip flop):
Wile E Coyote (everything I know about engineering I learned from watching him)

Re: GL1000 Goldwing - Land Speed Racing Record Holder
Ditto. Far more work went into this machine and than was detailed in this thread. That doesn’t include the effort it takes to go out and actually run on the salt. I’ve been there, but as a spectator/crewmember. Visiting Bonneville when it’s active should be on every motorhead’s bucket list.
Happy to see this machine make BOTY.
Congratulations Arlo…er, Pickle.

Nice that you captured BOTY. The record was a major accomplishment in your category. Both accolades well deserved.
