Im fortunate in that I have Thing 1 to pull proven and correct functioning parts from. Swapped in the Coils/wires from thing one and Thing 2 starts and runs well now. No knocking, misfiring, or issues with acceleration. Got a set of GL1500 coils off FleaBay, and will be installing them. Getting close.

Boy, she cleaned up quite nice. You will figure out this knocking thing soon, always check the ignition before suspecting a fuel issue. Certainly the belt being off can do that.

A beautiful bike to start with! Man it is clean! Keep us posted, the things you are changing out, are good things to replace regardless, but hopefully you'll find the issue soon!
