still had to do it in stages, it is nice the shop/garage is a separate building so we do not smell the off gassing in the house

started painting the body parts. For the 78 it will be HD's pacific pearl blue. When I bought the 78 in 78 it was black, then a dark blue metallic, and , what many of you saw, a lacquer candy blue. It has a clear coat of urethane. Once you have put anything else over a lacquer, the top coat has to come off or it will lift. As you can see, I will need to sand down more on the front fender. Decals will go on, then a clear coat.

started painting sulfur yellow for the 77. DANG, yellow is a tough colour to paint!

I will still need to clearcoat after the decals go on. The decal manufacture recommends a week cure before decals. I also need to paint all the vetter stuff that was on the 78

I WAS thinking there might be economies of scale in tackling a pair of bikes at the same time. And your photos of the powdercoating suggested it might be the case. And then you hit the color, and it became clear that 2x is 2x the work.

Things are looking good.
