I may need the five bucks later. You guys knew I was going to buy it didn't you?
The bike belonged to a friend of the owner's father. When he gave up riding he gave it to Bert and they were surprised when it would not start right up.
I think Bert said he had it a year and a half and has sunk $500 into it without getting it started. He rebuilt the carbs and the front calipers, added progressive shocks and no go.
The original paint will polish up easily and the former owner calls once in a while to see if Bert has gotten it to run.
I gave Bert $500 for it so he has his parts money back. He will deliver it here in his truck when he has time. We are both happy with the deal.
I took a couple of pix I'll put in my album.

There are a lot of good ones out there. The red one I have is turning into a long term project, especially since my wife has just imposed a cap on furthur motorcycle spending for a while. I just don't get the pleasure out of the new hot water heater or the dental work that I do with the bikes.
I'm thinking that I can get the yellow one running without spending much actual money.
You need a Christmas present don't you? What better to find under the tree than an old Goldwing?

I don't smoke, but I hear that quitting smoking is harder than quitting heroin. Therefore, I think I'll take up heroin so it will be that much easier when I decide to quit. I can sit there in the NA meetings and be thankful that I didn't get hooked on cigarettes.
I'll need some help starting a drug habit, since all my money seems to go to my motorcycle habit. I'm so sick that last week I bought an 81 CB750K with only 3842 original miles on it and parted the sucker out!
If everybody on the list sends me $5, I can go over to the trainyard and buy some good dope.
I like to hit myself in the face with a ball peen hammer because it feels so good when I stop..........

Thanks Reb,
That would be one of my first thoughts as I saw one wire cut in the side compartment and a small switch spliced in by the starter button. At this point I have no idea what has been done previously.
I wouldn't think it will be a big problem even if I have to rewire it. I hate to bypass a lot of things and find out later it was something simple though, it seem this bikes houls stay as sock as possible.
Cyclepsyco you may be in the perfect business for yourself. My brother-in-law in Kiwi likes beer and collecting cars. When he had a pub I thought he was set for life, but now he has a rental car outlet in Queenstown and has a great excuse for buying cars.
I have no idea what my excuse is.
