Hey guys, my buddy Scott is going with his sporty. He may have to stop for gas more than us, just a heads up!

Toehead: How far can a Sportster go before needing gas? I think they have a 2.5 gallon tank, so stopping every 75 miles?? If you can find out exactly I can plot the stops for him.

Okay that helps. I think he can make it to Charlemont, if not there is a gas station about 15 miles before.... See you Sunday. Is your father coming as well? I have to ask.... Are you riding the GL1000 or the CX500?

My father is coming, he isgood for about 120 miles.

I'll be coming on the Gl. it is running great with the rebuilt carbs and electric fuel pump. The last thing that is nagging at me is a strange clutch issue. Sometimes when the bike is starting to warm up and I have a passenger I will be slipping the clutch in the friction zone, and it will suddenly make a strange noise/vibration and grab hard. I have to pull the clutch lever back in. It only does it once. I am actually concerned about my "plate B" rivets.

What do you fellas think?

I just did a clutch job from hell. It could be anything from the B Plate to broken springs or the pressure plate fingers snapping. You really can't tell until you do the surgery. If it is the B plate I have one you can have.

I'll be tearing into it soon. Think I will be alright for this trip?
