Franconia Notch, NH

Post by Toehead »

My girlfriend and I took the opportunity to escape for the weekend up to Franconia Notch state park. We both needed a vacation!

We took 93 north the whole way.

We arrive in Franconia Notch. This is in the Cannon Mt parking lot. There was actually a Canadian wing club there, but they were riding off as I approached.

We took the Arial tramway to the top of Cannon. Visibility was great, with peaks visible into Canada.

Next up was the Flume. This destination is sure to impress.

Our bed and breakfast. We stayed at the Kinsman Lodge in Franconia. I can't say enough good things about the people.

The goldwing in the parking lot. Didn't miss a beat for the whole ~3 hour ride.

After excellent brick oven pizza at Above the Notch restauraunt, we settled in for the night.

The next day, we hiked coppermine trail to bridal veil falls. The bike in its native environment.

These butterflies were everywhere at the falls.

Leave the falls cleaner than you found them! I venture into the water (Freezing! It is all snowmelt runoff) after a stray beer can.

After the falls, we paid a visit to my relatives living in the sugar hill area, and then set off for home. We hit one thunderstorm and torrential downpour on the way home, but even that was fun in a way and the bike didn't mind at all.

Home and back in the garage until the next adventure.

Very Jealous!! Some awesome riding up that way. When I was stationed in Brunswick Me. our best friends ran a screen printing business in Gorham and we ran over there a lot on weekends to spend time with them. I was in a cage but always wanted to do some riding up there on a Bike.
