They came off in the end! I found that sticking a long piece of wood behind the carburators so I could hit the head outward from the other side of the bike made it really easy.

My short trip around BC (1625 kms) and only 4 days pales in comparison. Glad you made it and finished on the same ride as you started with. Cheers

Finally the bike is back all together and seems to hold fluid inside. I did have a coolant leak after reassemby. The gasket for the tube that goes on top of head is not included in the Vesrah kit! Just as last year Amanda went to Europe just after our roadtrip, and im left behind with her family... no problem for me though, as they're super nice! After dropping her to the airport, her dad took me to a shop to get gasket material an sealant. And the home made gasket seems to do the job just fine!

Then today I went 96 miles with her brother to get seafood at the Pacific Coast Highway, and the bike worked just fine through Mulholland Drive and the canyons... little bit better than last year at least!
With the new gasket these bikes feel same really.....

After that I cleaned and put away the bike for upcoming adventures... hopefully soon!

In the evening I had a different driving experience as he trusted me to borrow his old GSXR when we went to race gocarts (I lost). Then we went home to refresh in the jacuzzi.

Excellent. Glad to see you got her all fixed up. Have seen horror stories of what coolant will do to a cylinder when guys put it off for next riding season.
