May I ask you why the intake pipes are not bolt directly on the cylinder head?

The intakes were designed only for the GL1100,
I have a GL1200 engine in my GL1100 frame,
so I had to do a wee bit of port matching.
The throttle cable pieces I made are quite strong, I have been running this setup for a year now.

I wonder what heads you are using as well? Certainly not 1200 heads in those pictures. :)

No, those are from the 1100, just using for a "workbench"
Matched the top of my adapters with the intakes.

Hey, Wolfie666, how about some final shots of your linkage, manifold and carbs setup?? I don't recall seeing it in a build thread, just a few posts here and there.

Looks like a good setup.
Whatever I suggest here should be given ample time for a moderator to delicately correct. I apologize in advance.

Never made a build thread, because been working on it for two years, and it's still not where I want it to be...
The only part hidden under the "tank" is the single to dual throttle housing.

Thanks,Wolfie666, you went with a splitter. I am thinking of using a setup like the Kharman Ghia referenced earlier. However, I'm wondering about the slight differences in cable stretch from heat. In the Ghia setup, one carburettor returns to the stop, the other is sync'd to it. I guess after syncing you could re-set the throttle stop of the other.

Anything more on this topic? I came across a "Universal Split Dual Throttle Motorcycle Cable Kit" on a certain well known online shop. That would certainly make a dual weber conversion much easier?

I am running a splitter cable from a 69 CB350. Threads into the factory control, cable is perfect length. For the carb cams I took off the stock cam from the old carb mani and cut it in half and welded it to the IDF linkage. Built a cable holder for each side and it works like a charm! Plus much less going on! Much cleaner look. Sorry about the sideways pics, can't figure out how to straighten them!

ImageI'm using this for years now on my gl1000 without any problem. Easy carb sync, very low cost, and plenty of space free between the carbs.
