Re: GL1100 Cheap E-Z Single Carb Conversion
unique carburetion i found through my valued youtube and what's really funny is all the forums i belong to! ngw,gw facts,gw docs,gw riders, and after learning so much: hogforums,streefighters,suzuki-gsr,kaw,yam and mostly of importance to me homemadetools.net forum. and all these forums refer to others and it is contagious. unique carburetion has been shown to others by me 100's of times. without your thread DKL i would still be converting stock airboxes with aluminum plates and jb weld as pictured in some of my first threads. since then i've called all the customers and now friends back and have used your method to swap out (some didn't want to) the old builds.can't wait to do an 1800! i have been busy converting 50cc scooters to 80 or more cc and working on boring and stroking a 1500 a friend of mine has that drove it without water for two months last winter. it didn't die , he just kept complaining that the temp gauge wasn't working. i added some water to it andddd

Re: GL1100 Cheap E-Z Single Carb Conversion
Yup, still here but my single carb conversion isn't. While working with it I was also scrounging up the various missing parts to the OEM set up. I eventually got them all together and ordered the rebuild kit from Randakk along with the manual which turned out to be invaluable to me. I got the OEM's done and mounted but discovered an oil leak from the weep hole at the water pump. So....on to that repair(new water pump) which I just completed. It's all back together now so I'm now shopping for some gauges to build a carb sync kit. Hope to do something with it this week, would like to get it running again even without a sync which I can do later. Just getting anxious to move past the engine and complete the rest of the build.cuyler1 wrote:something else, i've been wondering about john schmitt and his conversion as i'm doing my brownie(84 1200) at this time also. john are you still there? and merry christmas too all!

Re: GL1100 Cheap E-Z Single Carb Conversion
-34f here Monday morning. Plus 24 now. We might break freezing tomorrow. It's a welcome relief. I turned in my papers saying I'm retiring the 28th of May. I hope this is my last winter. Not much getting done on my Wings.
Whatever I suggest here should be given ample time for a moderator to delicately correct. I apologize in advance.

LOL, yeah I was thinking 40's or even 50's. High here the last couple of days was single digits. Upper 40's right now and I'd be in a t-shirt.
