Congrats!
For any non-electrical tech fans out there out there: design of a switching power supply like this is considered very challenging; part art and science.
You could post this ignition project in hackaday http://hackaday.com/

Just got back from the garage. I hooked the CDI up with jumper wires to the bike and I can confirm it ran fine. I had to kickstart it because my starter randomly stopped working.

It didn't run any worse than usual, so thats a start! I also didn't regap the plugs to take advantage of the new ignition, which is required for CDI to show any benefit in my understanding. This thing always runs pretty rough when cold until the heated throttle body gets some coolant through it.

Let me know if you have any questions!

If I were to order a few boards of this circuit, would anybody want one? You could have it for cost.

If we are talking about the board for the ignition circuit and tach signal, I would definitely be down for that. While your offer for cost is awesome and greatly appreciated, I would have to toss you a few extra for your time in making it. Consider it gratuity! :-D

I've already committed a little bit with some 03 GSXR 600 throttle bodies, but at $55 they weren't a huge investment. The Microsquirt will be the no turning back phase. My goal is to go EFI for as close to $500 as I can get (but we know how plans go lol)

Let me know where and when to send the money for it and you shall receive payment.

Worked out a board.. It's still pretty big, at about 5X3. There is certainly a learning curve to all of this and I am hoping that it works out OK.

Got the boards yet? Would be unusual if no errors in the routing, pretty hard to get it perfect the first time out.

Yes, i'm working on putting it together now. I've got to buy some smaller 100V zeners, as the ones I have are a bigger package than I used on the layout.

fingers crossed :)

I made some labelling mistakes that I've caught so far (just formatting issues). Hopefully no electrical issues.

I haven't forgotten this! I've gotten the board working, and run the bike. while discharging the caps to make it safe to handle I accidentally discharged into the MOSFET and NPN rail and ruined a lot of components.

I think I might order a new board with some improved layout, etc, and buy all new components.

I'll keep you guys updated!

When you receive these printed circuit boards, are the complementing components already installed?

That's a negative, but they are through-hole and there are labels. It took about an hour to put together last time.
