oh it was. He also asked what I was running for a transmission and rear gear ratio. I don't abuse my vehicles but I do enjoy stretching her legs occasionally and in second and third she pulls like a freight train.
I'm running 3:23 gears (factory) and at 75 mph it is revving 2100 rpm..he told me it doesn't start to really work till I hit 6 grand. I have no idea how fast that would have me going and I have no intention of finding out. lol
On the dyno she put out 387 hp and 422 foot pounds of torque..an awesome street engine

In the past I have wondered about the accuracy of the Goldwing valve timing.
I use a timing wheel and piston stop to check the tdc and timing marks but stop short
of degreeing the camshaft because there is no way of adjusting it if it were off.

Mike,
In your experience, how far off of optimum are stock cams?
has anyone ever made adjustable pullys to be able to advance or retard the cams?
think it would be worth the trouble?

A friend of mine who is an awesome automotive performance tuner from the old school said that with the gasoline available today, degreeing in cams is not worth it for the street. Now, we was talking Pontiac V8s, but....

Yes, the returns are minimal, for most of us not worth it. Because, yes, by itself, without other engine tuning, too little, too late.
