For the past year I have been using this repair method for my GL1000 broken float posts.
Randakks liked it and is now offering this painless way to fix the posts
Take a look here and let me know what you think.

Yes Cyborg, easy and very quick.
No holes to drill or accurate filing to do.

Gets my vote as a winner. I'll have to get one and check it out. But if its good enough for Randakk, its good enough for me

very cheeky and clever. I love clever chaps but wish I were smart enough to have invented zip ties or velcro. haha

Brilliant. I used to drill a 1/16th dia. hole in the bottom of the carburetor and in the top of the broken off float post, then press together with a 1/16th inch roll pin. It worked, but this looks much easier. Nice design...and simple. action1

Of the better repairs out there, this one can quite simply save a good carburetor with both posts damaged. It is the quickest way to get your ride back on the road.

Brilliant design ! Wish it was around a couple of years ago when I had to chase down an alternate carb body because of a broken float post. I didn't trust my ham-handed self to be able to do the other Randakk fix at the time.
