Hi Guys,
If anyone on the forum would like to see one of the caps with a PPS button installed, please let me know.
I can send one to you and when you look it over, all you have to do is share your opinion with NGW members here on this post. You would then share by sending it to anyone else who wishes to see it or send it back to me.
Please respond on this post and I will send it to you.

A generous offer, but I can see from the picture that it is a first class restoration. In my opinion anyone who has questionable caps, should bypass the free sample, and just send in their questionable caps for restoration. They are very important to the good running of a bike, no one should pass on this great offer. Even if the caps look OK. they are 30+ years old, and a refresh will give them another 30 years. And they will look great action1 action1

I can attest to how much of an improvement sealing the caps can make. I did mine with freeze plugs & plastic discs a couple of years ago so they should be good for a decade or so. Its not too bad a job if you have the skills to drill & tap fairly precisely located holes.

But the results aren't exactly original, not that original matters much to me , but it does to some.

I'm thinking that, depending on your price, this could be a very attractive alternative, especially for people who aren't up for playing machine shop.

Which would make it a very attractive alternative for anyone in the US.

For those of us in other countries, though, postage to & from would more than double the cost (and, unfortunately, you have no control over the postal rates) so unless keeping things original are important the freeze plug repair should still be considered for those who have the necessary skills.

But it is really, really neat that something like this can be done in what is basically a "cottage industry" setting.

If anyone in Canada would like a set we could arrange for Pete to send them to Oldewing's in Columbus and I could pick them up there on the Eastern Ride, bring them home and re-mail them up here ......
