We received this very unique GoldWing in the first week of February. Haul Bikes was the carrier and it was partially restored by the owner about 2 years ago. Here's a picture before she left her home garage in Idaho

The next one is the very cool shelter area. Notice the latching mechanism for the side shelters.

Very Cool! What is up with the seat? Homemade, or a preproduction model?

That bike is indeed a treasure.

Casper,
The seat pan and foam are original but was recovered with the smooth vinyl. The actual 00002 seat covering was the same as the production 75 but the usual "Honda" name on the back was instead replaced with "GoldWing".

This unit is the second PreProduction Prototype made. It is one of 10 Honda made to show and present to dealers throughout the world. This one was at the September 18th, 1974 Dealer Show in Las Vegas, NV.
There were 5 units presented: 2 Antares Red, 2 Blue Green and one Sulfur Yellow.

Here is a pic of the interesting water pump cover that was on these units. Notice it is one piece.

Shown here is the very cool 41 year old carburetors that were tested on my 76. They are very unique in that the link rods were hand made from billet aluminum rod and bar. Check out the bright aluminum stay plate, also hand made.

The right side shows the link rod as well as the Pre-Pro float bowls. They were the castings of the float bowls from a early seventies TN360 Honda truck or the 600 series Civic. At close inspection you will not see any drain screws.

FOOTNOTE: I checked the operation of the carbs and as old as they are, I got over 45 mpg on my 76. Not bad for a set this old, eh?
