My other time and money pit...

...but as with our motorcycles, the pain is instantly erased once underway or at "The Destination".

My other garage queen is a 1983.5 VW Vanagon Westfalia. First of the water-cooled VW boxers. The ultimate evolution of that line.
Bosch fuel injection (primitive, but shared with the Porsche 914). I've owned it about 8 years and my gal and I have humped this thing all over the Intermountain West. Not a Syncro, but still part billy goat. It gets into lots of out of the way places. Lots of upgrades - including a GoWesty-built 2.3L Wasserboxer. Someday (if I kill it), I may do a Subaru conversion.

I just completed installing a new propane tank on it. Turns out the old one is completely rebuildable. Some of the fittings were aging (34 years old) and some stations balked at filling it. I think what I'm going to do now is sandblast, repaint and install new fittings and run a dual tank. Haven't decided yet, though, as the single tank easily lasts an entire season.

So, although I've done a TON of work to this thing, this was the latest chore and fresh on my mind:

Roughing it...

The ole girl can be a bit labor intensive at times, but it's worth it. People love it, but I get the best stories from "old guys" who had Splitties and Bays.

You’ve got one of the few, practical appreciating vehicles on the road today.
The first gen vans are gold, but now the square ones are going up like crazy.
And for good reason. They are fun to drive, and so roomy. Etc
